So I just got back from the pdoc and she just added Klonopin to my med cocktail. I'm on 300 lamictal, 150 wellbutrin, and now 0.5 Klonopin. I was wondering if anyone else has tried Klonopin for Bipolar 2 and how it worked for them. I know everyone is different but I'm just curious.
It's been a great med for me.
Don't worry about the small add on dose. It can help with anxiety attacks, or edginess brought on by the other drugs or even just as a quick emergency med if you feel yourself feeling too high.
I think the Klonopin wears off slowly, at least for me. I've been taking Klonopin for a long time due to my anxiety. I could feel those two wearing off. It really does help me a lot. Takes a while to kick in (maybe 1/2 an hour?) but it lasts much longer than Xanax and Ativan.
Laura. I was put on Seroquel which has been really good so far.
Also, Klonopin is only an add on. It is in no way for me or anyone else I know with any type of bipolar, to be considered a main med.
Why did your pdoc add the klonopin?
I had an rx before I was diagnosed bipolar. I took it to sleep and I remember how much it evened out my mood too.
I have mot heard of Klonopin being a long term constant in the bipolar II treatment, but maybe more for an as needed basis?
