Taking klonopin while pregnant - Could I delivered a healthy baby while taking clonazapam (klonopin) while pregnant? It's possible Anti-seizure medicines raise the odds of birth defects. Benzodiazepines (klonopin (clonazepam) being one) can cause the newborn to have trouble moving, breathing, feeding, and staying.
Klonopin is a long-acting benzodiazepine which is a kind of sleep-inducing drug (anti-anxiety drug, psychiatric drug) and a blood pressure drug which is a kind of cardiovascular drug. Read more.
Given how long you've been on the medicine perhaps going down by one dose every week will be safest but it needs to start soon as benzodiazepines like clonazepam can affect the fetus.
I Happily Took Anti-Depressants During My Pregnancy Over the past two decades, I have taken Effexor, Lithium, Buspar, Wellbutrin, Klonopin, Topamax, Lamictal, and Prozac—the last two of which have let me be my “There are some people who can go off their drugs during pregnancy,” she said.
(Incidentally, every women he interviewed asked Solomon for help, too.) I could not stop thinking about how Carey, and now this woman, were killed for such a treatable condition. If they had had my doctors, I l myself, they would have been okay, because my doctors would have made sure they were. Solomon talks about the shame mothers feel in asking for help, but clearly this isn’t a question of not asking—it’s not getting the right help.
After several sessions and a thorough history of my meds and moods, my new reproductive psychiatrist made a judgment call.
Its pretty much Xanax and i wouldn't take it during pregnancy especially the last trimester. i just looked it up and it says its a schedule D which has been known to inscrese the possibility of a cleft palate and limb defects its also not good if u breast feed i stoped taking it a few months before i found out i was pregnant. if.
I took one, and haven't touched it since. I'm sooo nervous. Have any of you been prescribed klonopin in late pregnancy? I was just the other day. I research and it says not common in pregnancy, or while breastfeeding. But, my baby is 9 days from coming. (I wasn't on any medication in the first trimester, or before, but suffered servers ppd after my first, and they think the hospitalizations and surgeries are going to make it worse this time.) but, I'm nervous. With multiple heart defects. So why'd they give it to me, along with Zoloft, and what were your conditions? Has anyone safely taken it at the end, and while bfing?.
by the way: I have a severe anxiety disorder and i take 60MG of Cymbalta and 200MG of trazodone a night.
is your anxiety really bad right now?. yeah i agree but its 9 days.
i stoped taking it a few months before i found out i was pregnant. i just looked it up and it says its a schedule D which has been known to inscrese the possibility of a cleft palate and limb defects. its pretty much Xanax and i wouldn't take it during pregnancy especially the last trimester. its also not good if u breast feed. if they gave it to u then they probably feel the effects of u not having it are more dangerous then the possible effects on the baby but since youre so close to delivery id wait to take it till after the baby is born and formula feed unless u take it for seizures.
I'll just have to figure out something for bfing. So I'm not taking it now. It's really not. No.
I know several people who've safely taken zoloft while pregnant and bfing I don't know about the other one though.
No way would I be taking Kolonopin during pregnancy! It's category D drug!!! I love BabyGaga.
When I asked about it. Yea. I'm most concerned about the over sleepiness. They basically just said he's formed. We don't have to worry about defects anymore.

I've been on this site for a while and always read the pregnancy posts about Klonopin, Xanax, etc; and these women all seemed to have doctors who found it was okay to continue taking their benzos while pregnant. I take .5 mgs of Lorazepam a day!!! And the doctor is saying that it may be unsafe towards.
I can't offer you any advice on the meds and pregnancy because I wasn't on any with any of my kids. I just wanted to congratulate you.

So, again congrats on all the good things. Wen.
This son is now 15 and a pain in the butt - LOL, but he's here and so am I. With the amount that I was drinking and steadily increasing all the time, I really do believe that I would have drank myself to death a long time ago. I consider him to have saved my life (I have never said this to him because I don't want him or the other kids to think he is the favorite. BTW - great job on the no drinking. The day I found out I was pregnant with my second son (I wasn't drinking before I got preggars with first son) I stopped drinking for good. He isn't really, but there is a very special bond between us.). As much as I was drinking, I really don't think I would be here today.
I think you will have a great pregnancy and all the wonders that go with it. Congratulations on being pregnant - it's the best news I've heard in quite a while.
A slip of the foot you may soon recover.

If you are trying to get pregnant, I wouldn't start taking it again. I did have to go to geneticist (? not sure if that's what they are called) to talk about what *could* happen since I was on the Klonopin for a month while pregnant. There isn't enough research to l if it is truly harmful to the baby. I was scared the.
